Wimpole Street Medical & Dental offers early detection STI screening using PCR/NAAT technology at our CQC-registered clinic. This screen can detect HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C at an earlier stage than standard antibody tests.
Testing uses a venous blood sample, with results available within 3 days. This screen is priced at £230.

Why Early Detection?
Standard antibody-based tests have window periods of several weeks. PCR/NAAT technology directly detects viral nucleic acid, enabling detection from as early as 10 days post-exposure for HIV. This is valuable for recent exposure where the anxiety of waiting for standard tests would be significant.
