How to Prepare for Your Appointment
A little preparation goes a long way, following these simple steps helps ensure your results are as accurate as possible.
Fast for 12 hours
Your panel includes fasting blood tests such as lipid profile and glucose, please fast for 12 hours before your appointment; only water is permitted during the fasting period.
Book a morning appointment
Most patients find fasting easiest overnight, sleep through most of the fasting window and attend first thing in the morning.
Stay well hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your visit. Being well hydrated makes the blood draw quicker and more comfortable.
Wear comfortable clothing
Choose a top with loose sleeves that roll up easily for the blood sample.
Take regular medication as normal
Continue any prescribed medication unless your doctor has advised otherwise. If you can, bring a list of what you take.
Avoid alcohol & strenuous exercise
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and heavy exercise the day before your appointment, as both can temporarily affect your results.
